PDA

PDA stands for Petits Dibuixos Animats which in english means Small Cartoons. The project was initially set up by Mario Torrecillas and Tyto Alba, and the aim is to develop a series of animated cartoons solely made by children. They write the script, they draw and they learn how animation works through games. The project has had a very good start up by signing up with several libraries in Barcelona where children can join the workshop and learn how animation works.

It is paramount for us that we as adults contaminate the less possible we can the spontanious work that children develop and the aim is that they can solely animate a short film. The project grows as it goes and a DVD will be released in due time with the result of all the experiments.

PDA is travelling to different towns in Spain and has the support of Instituto Cervantes (the spanish British Council) to travel and develop its experiments throughout the world as well. First stop, Tanger, Morocco. So keep and eye for our forthcoming shorts and for the little animation devils that might come up in the future.
